Why should you support Project HIP-HOP...................
Project HIP-HOP is a dynamic organization building a new generation of youth artists and activists. Some of the highlights from our past 15 years include -
In 2003 PHH youth wrote an education position statement which they presented to more than 300 youth, parents, and elected officials at the State House, the Boston School Committee, and the Mass Board of Education
In 2005, PHH worked with Fenway High School students to stop the deportation of their teacher, Obain Attouoman. For this work they were featured in national media and received awards from the NAACP, the Boston City Council, Jobs with Justice, and the Boston Celtics.
In 2006, PHH organized a bus for 4 youth organizations to take 56 youth and youthworkers to Washington D.C. for a rally to stop the genocide in Darfur
In 2008, PHH youth organized a talent show for 125 youth and performed their hip hop remix of the Civil Rights song "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around"
